I have been seeing Dr Phan for many years and I am very happy. I had some bad dental work(crowns)done in Mexico and he was a godsend that helped me get my teeth and gums properly treated and my gums healthy again. I have had an emergency dental issue and he went above and beyond to help me even though they were closed. I am very happy I see Sandra who is one of the hygienists who has worked there fo a long time. She’s now a friend and she is amazing. Staff ... I love the ladies there. I know most by name and really enjoy visiting and catching up when I see them in or out of the office. Most importantly I enjoy my dental experience- not many can say that! Actually I would have never thought I would be saying that ! If you need a change or are looking for a new dental office for all your needs try them out. You won’t be sorry. The office is very easy to locate just off Macleod in the S.E of Calgary and free parking in their lot that is on site. There is a grocery store and shopping centre across the street in Shawnessey . This is very convenient to run errands before or after your appointment as well. This is a little gem tucked into Lake Sundance. Roberta Grant

I've been going to Progressive dental for over 20 years and I can honestly say they rock! Arlana has been my hygienist for years and always has kind words to say...and does a great job!! Dr. Phan has a great philosophy on dental care and always recommends what is necessary and what can wait. He's done 2 crowns for me too...and he always makes me feel comfortable and does excellent work...he's very thorough and ensures that his work is top notch! The staff up front are very friendly too and always willing to chat. Everyone there is awesome! Oh yeah! He also called me in the evenings after my crowns were done to ensure I was OK!

My son had an appointment today for four cavities and our entire experience was seamless and perfect. The appointment took less than an hour the hygienist and Dr. Phan were extremely efficient and friendly and very nice to my son. Dr. Phan also went out of his way to personally call me later in the day to see how my son was doing which was very kind and impressive. Progressive Dental is the best dentist office we have been to and that says a lot as I am typically a very critical and easily unimpressed kind of person. Thank you for making my son feel at ease and more comfortable as he was very nervous!

I'm easily the biggest baby when it comes to the dentist and getting literally anything done. The staff at Progressive never makes me feel bad for being scared and this most recent time didn't make me feel bad for having a giant cavity. Everyone is so kind and they make sure you are comfortable no matter if it's a cleaning or more intense work. I couldn't recommend them more. I drive from the NE to go here and it's WELL WORTH the drive.

Just had an old filling replaced with a crown. Everyone at Progressive Dental from the receptionists to the hygienists and Dr. Phan are both friendly and professional. Everything was explained to me and the hygienist and Dr Phan always checked to see I wasn’t feeling any discomfort. Lastly I truly appreciate the follow up calls from Dr Phan. I highly recommend Progressive Dental and Dr Phan !

It's been about 4 years since my last review and I still 100 percent recommend progressive dental to everyone. I have never felt like they push excessive dental work or recommend procedures that are not needed. The dental hygienists dental assistants and dentists are all very skilled knowledgeable friendly and respectful. I've never had a bad experience myself or with my children.

The people here are always friendly and attentive. I'm not a huge fan of going to the dentist but I cannot put into words how much easier the team at progressive dental makes it to feel comfortable and leave with a smile. They're always so amazing so glad they've restored my faith in dentists and make it so I have the least amount of anxiety possible

Dr Robert Phan

General Dentist

Dr. Robert Phan, who is originally from Vietnam and emigrated to Edmonton, joined Progressive Dental in 1998. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1998.

Robert has been an invaluable addition to the Progressive Dental and even though he grew up in Edmonton, he is now proud to call himself a Calgarian and is actively involved in the local community.

Robert believes in creating and maintaining healthy smiles, and his philosophy of dentistry is to provide each of his patients with the healthy smile and dental health they deserve. Robert enjoys working with the entire Progressive Dental team and finds that dentistry is immensely satisfying.

He continues to enjoy practicing dentistry, and he looks forward to working with his existing patients--and to meeting the new ones that will cross his path.
Dr Yazen Al-badran

General Dentist

Dr. Yazen Al-badran was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Inspired by a passion for improving smiles and enhancing confidence, he pursued dentistry as a lifelong calling. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Sydney, where he established a strong foundation in both restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

Following his return to Canada, Dr. Al-badran has built a career distinguished by precision, compassion, and a dedication to advanced, modern dental care. He has completed advanced training with the California Implant Institute and currently holds the Fellow with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI).

As an Invisalign ® Silver Provider, Dr. Al-badran integrates clear aligner therapy into his practice, helping patients achieve beautiful, functional smiles. He is also passionate about dental photography, using it not only as a clinical tool but as a way to meticulously design and celebrate each transformation. By staying current with the latest research and innovations, he ensures his patients benefit from dentistry at its highest standard.
